The 7th National Technological Festival LOCUS 2010 & 2nd National Mechanical Expo 2067 is being organized at IOE, Pulchowk Campus on 17th and 18th September 2010 .
LOCUS - a group of students studying Electronics, Computer and Electrical Engineering at IOE has organized the two day event with the theme of ‘Competition builds Quality’. Likewise, Society of Mechanical Engineering Students (SOMES) is organizing the event with the objective of “encouraging aspirant engineers”.7th National Technological Festival LOCUS 2010
Software and hardware competitions and Electrical event competitions are the main attraction of LOCUS 2010. The additional attraction of LOCUS 2010 are Paper presentation, Fastest Google Searching Competition, Coding Contest, Problem Solving Competition, Gaming competition, 3D Movie Show, Exhibition, Seminar/workshop/talk-program, Micro hydro-power plant demonstration and +2 expo etc.
A workshop on “IT Students: The future Professionals: Perspectives and Challenges” is being organized tomorrow at 10:30am at Library Hall, IOE Pulchowk. The workshop is specially intended for IT and engineering students. Entrance is free.
According to organizer, Prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal will inaugurate the Event. Also, they will be celebrating “Software Freedom Day 2010” (SFD) on Saturday in association with IOE FOSS Community. 2nd National Mechanical Expo 2067
The event will showcase 14 projects developed by the fourth year students of IOE along with projects from Kathmandu University, Thapathali Engineering College, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, Alternative Energy Promotion Center, Department of Roads and the semifinalists of the recently held National Robocop Competition.
The main attractions of the event are robot demonstration, projects on mini-hydropower, counseling about the areas and scopes of mechanical engineering, engineering achievement and experts´ presentation, among others.
